In the
mid -1970's, Thomas Gentile purchased the former Gormley Community Funeral Home in
Hackensack and, in 1978, acquired the Steward Funeral Home. Soon after
purchasing a third facility, Ricardo Memorial Home, Thomas combined the
services of all three facilities into one convenient location so that he
could better offer affordable funeral services to the families in
surrounding communities. His idea of combining essential funeral
services into economical packages was successful, allowing him to expand
the company to serve even more families.
Additionaly, the
Gentile's purchased the J. Rocciola Funeral Home in the late 1990's and
continue to serve their families at the Union Street location which is
currently under expansion to meet all the needs of the families we
serve.

Today,
Thomas and his wife, Josephine, own and operate a local chapel,
providing caring, compassionate services and affordable merchandise to
families of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Their son,
Joseph, a licensed funeral director who joined the firm in 1996, and
their two daughters, Lisa Marie and Nicole, assist them in their
efforts. Joseph's wife, Simona, is especially helpful with
assisting those families who require translation services, as she is
fluent in Italian.
Rounding out the staff is Justin Wild, Tony Lambo and Dominick
Carucci who are responsible for making everyone feel "at home".
