MICHAEL P. ALETTA,
of
South Hackensack, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at his
home, at the age of 90 years.He was born in San Giacomo, Italy to
the late Giacomina and John J. Aletta Sr. He came to this country at
the age of three with his parents and his older sister Antoinette,
settling in Hackensack and has lived in South Hackensack for 52
years. Prior to retiring in 1980, he worked for Public Service
Electric and Gas of Hackensack for 42 years. A month after
retirement, he went to work for First Fidelity Bank of Hackensack as
a bank messenger for 13 years. He served his country during World
War II in the United States Army, entering service in 1942,
becoming a member of the Company 150 Infantry, and being honorably
discharged in 1945. He was a parishioner of the Church of the
Immaculate Conception of Hackensack. Beloved husband for 65 years of
Mary J. (nee Minardi). Devoted father of Jacqueline Millevoi and her
husband Anthony of South Hackensack, and Dr. John M. Aletta and his
wife Dr. Elvira Aletta of Williamsville, NY. Cherished grandfather
of Gianmichael G. Aletta, and Sofia F. Aletta. Dearest brother of
Pasquale Aletta of Hackensack, Thomas Aletta and his wife Rose of
Hackensack, and the late Antoinette Figlia, and former Hackensack
Police Chief John J. Aletta Jr. The funeral on Saturday, September
17th, at 8:45 AM, from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union
Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 49 Vreeland Avenue, at
10:00 AM. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family will receive
friends on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Memorial donations to the
