Maria LaMagra Bassano, a lifelong resident of Hackensack, died on Sunday, December 10, 2006, at Wellington Hall Care Center in Hackensack at the age of 87 years.  Prior to retiring 25 years ago, she was a floor lady for Reed Lane Company of South Hackensack. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Episcopal Church of Hackensack. Predeceased by her husband Anthony Bassano who died in 1979, two daughters, Beverly Bassano and Beverly Rose Bassano and her two sisters, Millie LaMagra and Josephine Bruno, she is survived by her son Anthony Bassano Jr. of Hackensack and several cousins. The Mass of Requiem will be offered on Wednesday, December 13th, at 10:00 AM, at St. Anthony of Padua Episcopal Church, 72 Lodi Street, Hackensack, Reverend Brian H. Laffler officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Park Cemetery in Hackensack. Visiting will be on Tuesday evening from 6 - 9 PM.
