Frank
H. Behrens, of Brighton Gardens, Saddle River, died on
Friday, November 10, 2006, at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood at the age of
89 years. He was born in Jersey City and lived in Wood Ridge for 35
years, Vincentown and Saddle River for the last five years. Prior to
retiring in 1980, he was a refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic
for Engineering and Refrigeration Company of Jersey City. where he
worked for 32 years. He was a parishioner of Assumption R. C. Church of
Wood-Ridge and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 2853 of
Fair Lawn. Predeceased by his two wives, Theresa (nee Curtin) and Marie
Coleman (nee Jones), his son, Thomas Behrens, and two brothers, Richard
and William Behrens, he is survived by two sons, Frank and Carol Behrens
of Saddle Brook, and Daniel and Tracy Behrens of Lyndhurst, four
daughters, Catherine and Arthur Young of Heber Springs, Arkansas, Teresa
and Emile Shahadi of West Orange, Alice and Michael Regan of Beijing,
China and Mary and Robert Hartnett of Maplewood, his brother Robert and
Katherine Behrens of Forked River, 22 grandchildren and 4 great
grandchildren. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at
Assumption R. C. Church, 143 First Street, Wood-Ridge, on Tuesday,
November 14th, at 10:30 AM with burial following at Immaculate
Conception Cemetery in Upper Montclair. Visiting will be on Monday from
2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
