John M. Calabrese, of Hackensack, died on Sunday, April 16, 2006, at his home, at the age of 51 years. He was born in Hackensack and worked in the psychiatric department at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood for 20 years as a registered nurse. . A published poet, he was a member of the Bergen Poets. He was a parishioner of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Hackensack. Predeceased by his father the late John D. Calabrese, he is survived by his mother, Frances Isoldi Calabrese, his sister, Patricia Calabrese and her husband Richard Germano, his brother Chris Calabrese and his wife Karin, four nieces, Katie, Allysa, Rebecca, and Olivia, a nephew Kyle, two close long time friends, Nancy and Sharon, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, April 20th at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 49 Vreeland Avenue, Hackensack, at 10:00 AM. Cremation will follow at Cedar Lawn Crematory in Paterson. Visiting will be on Wednesday from 2 - 4  and  7 - 9  PM.
