GIUSEPPE
CANDELA, of
Hackensack, died on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at Hackensack
University Medical Center, at the age of 78 years. Born in Toretta,
Palermo, Italy he came to this country in 1973. Prior to retiring,
he worked in the laundry department at Hackensack University
Medical Center. Previously, he worked as a security guard in
Italy. He was a parishioner of St. Francis R. C. Church of
Hackensack. Beloved husband for 54 years of Vincenza ( nee
D'Armetta). Devoted father of Nicolo Candela and his wife Gina of
Elmwood Park, Joe Candela and his wife Maddalena of Lodi, Anna
Petersen and her husband Lawrence of Lodi, Rosario Candela and his
wife Michelina of Bronx, NY, Salvatore Candela of Oakland, Mario
Candela and his wife Angela of Elmwood Park, and Anthony Candela
and his wife Natalie of Paramus. Cherished grandfather of Joseph
Thomas, Vanessa, Lana, Nicholas, Giuseppe, Steve, Robert, Joseph
Nicholas, Joseph Morris, Jonathan, Joseph, Vincenza, Joseph
Anthony and Vincent. Adored great grandfather of Alyssa. Deaerst
brother of Gaetano Candela and his wife Fina of Palermo and four
brothers and three sisters who predeceased him. The Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 10th, at
St. Francis R. C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack, at 11:00 AM
with entombment following at Garden of Memories, Township of
Washington. Visiting will be on on Thursday from 7 - 9 PM
and Friday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
