JOSEPHINE "PINA" CARFI, (nee Ferraro) of Hackensack, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011, at the age of 86. Josephine was a very devoted follower of St. Pio and Pope John Paul II, she especially enjoyed cooking for her family and working in her garden. She was a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church in Hackensack. Beloved wife of the late Giovanni “John” Carfi (1975). Loving mother of Ralph F. Carfi and Josie Gallagher and her husband James. Loving grandmother of James J. and Michele Gallagher.  Josephine is pre-deceased by two sisters and one brother. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many close friends. The Funeral on Thursday August 4, 2011 at 8:45 AM at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack. Interment Hackensack Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM.
