Gwen E. Hughes Ciavaglia, of Hackensack, died on Saturday, December 17, 2005, at her home. She was born in Warren, Ohio and lived in Wood-Ridge prior to moving to Hackensack 30 years ago. She retired last month as a telerecruiter for the Bergen Community Blood Service of Oradell where she worked for 15 years. She was a member of  the First Presbyterian Church of Hackensack where she was a member of the Women's Guild and the Choir. Predeceased by her husband Mario M. Ciavaglia who died in 1999, she is survived by her son Daniel Ciavaglia of Hackensack, her daughter, Nancy O'Shea and her husband Robert of Paramus, her grandchildren, Jennifer Gallagher, Kimberly Ciavaglia, and Christian O'Shea, and her brother, Alwin Hughes of Portland, Oregon. The funeral service will be at the First Presbyterian Church, 64 Passaic Street, Hackensack, on Wednesday, December 21st at 10:00 AM, Reverend Steven McClelland officiating. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Visiting will be on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
