Louis
J. Daurio, of South Hackensack, died on Monday, October 30,
2006, at his home, at the age of 87 years. He was born in Teaneck and
lived in Manchester and South Hackensack. He owned Brackett Cleaners of
River Edge for more than 25 years prior to retiring in 1981. He was an
Army Veteran of World War II where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He
was a member of the Knights of Columbus # 9478 of Manchester and was a
parishioner of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Hackensack. He
is survived by his wife Sarah A. Mandara Daurio, two daughters, Lois
Maglio and her husband Angelo of Roseland, and Susan Daurio and her
husband Marvin Rosenberg of Brooklyn, NY, a son, Dennis Daurio and his
wife Bernadette of Northvale, his grandchildren, Dana, Jill, Michael,
Jennifer, Elizabeth and Sara, his great grandchildren, Hudson and
Audrey, and three sisters, Tessie Talmo of Ridgefield, Rose Picardi of
Colts Neck, and Mary Gratzel and her husband Paul of Toms River. He was
predeceased by two sisters, Angelina Speciale and Jennie Fatteross, and
two brothers, Nick Daurio and Frank Daurio. The Mass of Christian Burial
will be offered on Friday at 10 :00 AM at the Church of the Immaculate
Conception, 49 Vreeland Avenue, Hackensack with burial following at St.
Joseph's Cemetery in Hackensack. Visiting will be on Wednesday evening
from 7 - 9 PM and Thursday from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 PM. Memorial donations
to the Renal Unit at Hackensack University Medical Center, 30 Prospect
Avenue, Hackensack, NJ 07601 or to the Church of the Immaculate
Conception, 49 Vreeland Avenue, Hackensack, NJ 07601 would be
appreciated.
