IRENE
M. VELARDI DI MARTINO,
of New Milford,
died on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at the Alldendale
Nursing Center in Allendale, at the age of 90 years. Born in
Hackensack, she has lived in New Milford for seven years. Prior to
retiring, she had worked at DiNapoli's Deli in Hackensack. She was
a parishioner of St. Francis R. C. Church of Hackensack. Beloved
wife of the late Diego "Dick" Di Martino. Loving mother
of Rosalie Giardella of New Milford, Thomas Di Martino and his
wife Marilyn of Gretna, Nebraska, and Richard Di Martino and his
wife Laura Blackmer of Wyckoff. Cherished grandmother of Maria,
Joseph, Jennifer, Thomas, David, Lauren, Erica, Lily and Ella.
Adored great grandmother of Paul, Gena, Derek, Jacob, Gabriel,
GiaVanna and Olivia. Devoted daughter of the late Giovannia and
Angelo Velardi. Dearest sister of the late Mary Petrocelli
and her husband Al, Joseph Velardi and his wife Kate, Benny
Velardi, Pat Velardi and Rose Vallinino. Dear sister in law of
Nancy Velardi, Rose Velardi, Jay Posnanski, Chip (Adeline)
Cavalieri and her husband Chet, Julie
Di Martino, Ann Di Martino, and the late Paul
Di Martino and his wife Ginny, Joseph Di Martino, Carmen Di
Martino, and Harry Posnanski. She is also survived by many loving nieces,
nephews and godchildren.The Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated on Saturday, January 10th, at St. Francis R. C. Church,
50 Lodi Street, Hackensack at 11:00 AM with burial following at
St. Joseph's Cemetery in Hackensack. Visiting will bes on
Friday from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 PM
