Alice
C. Hardie,
of Monroe Township, died on Friday, March 23, 2007, at her home.
Alice
worked for Governor Sherman Adams, who was an advisor to President
Dwight D. Eisenhower in the White House. She also organized and
handled the many personal gifts and donations given to the
Eisenhower’s during the 1950’s. She worked at the World’s Fair
in
Brussels
,
Belgium
and traveled extensively in
Europe
. She held a variety of positions in NYC and NJ, among them Harper
& Row Publishers and the Carnegie Endowment before becoming Public
Relations & Program Coordinator for Bloomingdale’s in Short
Hills, NJ where she was in contact with many well-known artists and
writers. She was active in the Republican Party, the Montclair Ski
Club and sang in many Choruses in
Morristown
, Princeton and the Rossmoor Community in Monroe Twp. Although she was
no longer a resident of Hackensack she always loved and supported the
Historic First Reformed Church (Church on the Green) and was laid to
rest there on Monday March 26, 2007 after a Graveside service attended
by her family and friends. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs.
Joie Hardie of CA and Several Nieces, Nephews and many friends. If
