JOSEPH J. KELLY,
of
Hackensack, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at the age of 95
years. Joseph was a strong supporter of the New York Botanical
Gardens, a graduate of St. John’s University Law School and a member
of the Alumni Association, a retired Captain for the United States
Coast Guard Auxiliary in New York, a member of the New York Bar
Association, and the Emerald Lawyers Society in New York City, Prior
to retiring in 1991, he was a founding partner and Senior Associate
for Cherry, Edson and Kelly Attorneys at Law, Tarrytown, NY for over
50 years. Beloved husband of the late Mary S. (nee Strong). Devoted
father of Judy Picciallo and her husband the late Frank of
Hackensack, Timothy J. Kelly and his wife Sandi of Allendale, NJ and
Susan K. Kettell and her husband Robert of Philadelphia, PA. Loving
grandfather of Lisa, Daniel, David, Amy, Wynne, Meg and the late
Steven. Great grandfather of Ashley, Shawn, Shannon, Theresa, Sarah,
Jessica, Christine and Michelle. Dearest brother of the late George
Kelly and his wife Helen of New York and his sister the late Mary
O’Brien. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews. The Funeral
Service will be held on Thursday June 9, at 11:00 AM at the G.
Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. Interment
will follow at Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack. The family will
receive friends on Wednesday from 2 – 4 & 7 - 9 PM.
