Marcel
J. Kirchdoerffer
of
Whiting, formerly of River Edge, died on Friday, September 28, 2007,
at the age of 89 years. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Marcel lived in
Bergenfield and River Edge moving to Whiting 21 years ago. Prior to
retiring from Alexander Company of New York, he was a lithographic
artist for more than 45 years. He was a parishioner of St. Peter the
Apostle R. C. Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus
Msgr. Burke Council # 5015 of River Edge where he was active in
writing articles for their newsletter and was and avid softball
player. He also played softball for 16 years in Whiting. He
was an Army Veteran of World War II. He is survived by his beloved
wife of 60 years, Theresa H. Vollinger
Kirchdoerffer, his son and daughter in law, Richard
Kirchdoerffer and his wife Phyllis of Fair Lawn and his
grandson, Matthew Kirchdoerffer of Fair Lawn. He was
predeceased by his sister, the late Eleanor Justisen. The Mass
of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, October 1st, at St.
Peter the Apostle R. C. Church, 445 Fifth Avenue, River Edge, at
9:30 AM with burial following at George Washington Memorial Park.
Visiting will be on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
