Ruth Wilcox Lydon, of Andover, formerly of
Hackensack and Elmwood Park, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at
her home, at the age of 83 years. Prior to retiring, she was the
Senior Executive Administrator for Sun Chemical Company of Fort Lee
where she worked for 50 years. She also worked for noted poet and
author Harry Hurd and during World War II she worked in the U. S.
Supply Depot in Edgewater. She was a graduate of Fairleigh-Dickinson
University. She was a volunteer and Vice President of the
Brightstone Mental Health Volunteers at Greystone Park. She is
survived by her loving husband, Professor John D. Lydon, and was a
special mother to Bradford J. Lydon and his wife Patricia of Tampa,
Florida, and Daniel J. Lydon and his wife Carla of Charleston,
South Carolina, her grandchildren, Matthew James, Daniel, and
Elizabeth, a brother Richard Wilcox and his wife Mary of East,
Hampstead, New Hampshire and a sister, Elizabeth Lane of Plaistow, New
Hampshire . She was predeceased by her first husband Edward Mutchler. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday,
January 29th, at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity R. C. Church, 34 Maple
Avenue, Hackensack with burial following at Holy Cross Cemetery in
North Arlington. Visiting will be on Sunday from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 PM .
