Andrew J. McNair, of Hackensack, died on Monday, December 18, 2006, at the Hackensack University Medical Center at the age of 77 years. He was born in Passaic and lived in East Rutherford prior to coming to Hackensack in 1972. Prior to retiring, he was a lieutenant for the Bergen County Sheriff's Department of Hackensack and worked in law enforcement for more than 25 years. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Elizabeth Higdon McNair, two sons, Anthony McNair and his wife Jeannine of Hackensack, and Rod McNair of New York, and three grandchildren, John, Caitlyn and Samantha. Visiting will be on Wednesday from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 PM.  Private burial services will be held by the family at Hackensack Cemetery.
