Gloria C. Ferlise Messina,
a lifelong resident of Hackensack, died on Thursday, February 16, 2006
at her home at the age of 69 years. A kind, generous and thoughtful
soul - "To know her was to love her." Prior to
retiring, she had been a teacher with the Teaneck School system. She
received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Montclair State Teacher's
College and her Master of Arts Degree from the University of Madrid.
She was a parishioner of St. Francis R. C. Church of Hackensack. She
was the cherished mother of Carmel Ann Messina and her partner Nadya
G. Ramos of Wayne, and Joseph A. Messina and his wife Cheryl of
Waretown, Adored grandmother of Rene and Ryan Messina and Dearest
sister of
Salvatore Ferlise and his wife Irene of Bayville, and Victor J. Ferlise and his wife Barbara of Toms River. The Mass of
Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 20th, at St. Francis
R. C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack at 10 AM with burial
following at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Hackensack. Visiting will be on
Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
