Mildred E. Colerick O'Shea,
died peacefully at her home in Hackensack, on Tuesday, November 22,
2005, at the age of 79. Born in Ansonia, Connecticut, she lived in
Stanton, Virginia prior to moving to Hackensack in 1968. She and her
husband Jack successfully ran O'Shea Printing Services of Hackensack for
25 years. "Mil" was a loving and caring person to both her
family and friends. Among her life accomplishments are the raising of
six successful children and several foster children. She was the first
women appointee to the Democratic State Committee in Virginia. She was a
Brownie and Girl Scout Troop Leader, a rosarian, a volunteer for
the CYO in which her children were active and a member of St. Peter the
Apostle R. C. Church of River Edge. She also was a member of the
Columbiettes of Trinity Council # 747 of Hackensack and the Bergen Irish
Association of Dumont. Predeceased by her husband John L.
O'Shea who died in 1997, she is survived by her children, Mary E.
Lamontagne of Warwick, NY, Alice Rutherford of Warwick, NY, Kathleen
Bracken of Hackensack, Judy Franseen of Penacook, NH, John F. O'Shea of
Vernon, Donna Angelo of Hillsdale and her "sixth" daughter,
Virginia Lawson of Paterson, 17 grandchildren and many nieces and
nephews. The funeral will be on Monday, November 28th, at 9:15 AM
followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle R. C.
Church, 431 Fifth Avenue, River Edge, NJ at 10:30 AM. Entombment will be
at Hackensack Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that you
honor her memory with donations to either the Hospice Program at
Hackensack University Medical Center, 30 Prospect Avenue, Hackensack,
NJ 07601 or to the Center for Food Action, 192 West Demarest
Avenue, Englewood, NJ 07631. Visiting will be on Saturday evening
from 7 - 9 PM and Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
