VINCENT PUGLISI,
of Hackensack, died
on Friday, May 20, 2011 at the age of 89. Prior to retiring in 1985,
he worked for United Food & Commercial Workers AFL-CIO #1245 Little
Falls, NJ for 31 years, where he was Recording Secretary, Steward
Business Agent and Officer.
He was a
Veteran of WW II serving in the United States Army. He was a member
and trustee of the VFW Post #8005 of South Hackensack, a member of
the American Legion Post #55 of Hackensack, a member of the
Hackensack Chapter of U.N.I.C.O., a
parishioner of St.
Francis R.C. Church in Hackensack, where he was a member and Past
President and Recording Secretary of the Holy Name Society and a
member of the St. Francis Socialites. Beloved husband of Josephine
(nee Colella) for 57 years. Devoted father of Linda Purpuro and
Christopher C. Puglisi. Loving grandfather of Katie Purpuro. Vincent
is pre-deceased by his parents Carmelo and Giuseppina Puglisi, three
brothers Phil. Sam and Tom and four sisters Jenny, May, Mary and
Sister Filomena Puglisi M.P.F. He is also survived by several
nieces, nephews and many other close relatives and friends. The
Funeral on Monday May 23, at 8:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile
Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi
Street, Hackensack, at 10:00 AM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery,
Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 – 4 & 7
- 9 PM.
