JOSEPH ROMAN SR., of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 30, 2011 at the age of 82. Prior to retiring in 1992 he worked for Yellow Freight Trucking in Carlstadt. He was a member of Teamsters local #560 and local #641. Joseph was also a Navy Veteran of World War II and an avid New York Mets fan. Beloved husband of Jacqueline (nee Wilson) for 62 years. Loving father of Joseph Roman Jr. and his wife Nancy, Gene Roman and his wife Amy and Richard Roman and his wife Phyllis. Cherished grandfather of Michael Roman, Jennifer Roman, Michele Petrella, Melissa Koronakis, Meredith Roman, Alec Roman, Kayleigh Roman and great grandfather of Gene Roman Petrella, A.J. Petrella and Olivia Koronakis. The Funeral on Wednesday, August 3, at 10:00 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Hackensack.
