WALTER JOHANN SCHMARJE, of Hackensack, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012, in Baltimore, at the age of 74 years.Born in Cuxhaven, Germany he came to this country in 1947 settling in Bronx, NY and has lived in Hackensack for 22 years. Prior to retiring, he worked for Morgan Stanley Company in New York. He was a volunteer at Fanny Hilliard School tutoring children with reading.  Lifelong partner of Phyllis Robinson and the son of their hearts, Dorian of Baltimore. Dearest brother of Dorothy S. Holmberg of Oradell and Helga Heil of Andover. Loving uncle of Marlissa Westerfield, Christopher Heil, and Greta McElwee. Great uncle of William, Artie, Robbie, Kaitlyn, Kenny, and Walter. The family will receive friends for a Memorial Service at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, on Saturday from 1 - 3 PM.
