Carmen
I. De Avila Vargas,
of Hackensack, died on Sunday, June 10, 2007, at her home, at the
age of 90 years. She was born in Barranquilla, Colombia and came to
this country in 1986 settling in Hackensack. Prior to retiring, she
was an elementary school teacher in Colombia for 41 years. She was a
parishioner of St. Francis R. C. Church of Hackensack. Predeceased by
her husband Miguel Vargas Ripol who died in 1995, she is survived by her
daughter, Gladys De Avila and her husband Nelson of Hackensack,
and two sons, Miguel Vargas of Hackensack, and Pedro Vargas of
Hackensack, her grandchildren, Michael De Avila, Daniel De Avila, Juan
Carlos Vargas, and Carmen Cecila Vargas, her great grand daughter,
Angela Perez Vargas, and her sister, Eufemia de Gonzalez of
Barranquilla, Colombia. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered
on Wednesday, at 12:00 Noon, at St. Francis R. C. Church, 50 Lodi
Street, Hackensack with entombment following at Garden of Memories
Mausoleum in Washington Township. Visiting will be on Tuesday evening
from 7 - 9 PM and Wednesday morning from 10:30 AM until time of the
Mass.
