,Galo
E. Velez, of Hackensack, died on Thursday, February 1,
2007, at the Regency Plaza in Park Ridge at the age of 59 years. Born
in Guayaquil, Ecuador, he came to this country in 1960. Prior to
retiring, he was a sergeant with the Hackensack Police Department. He
was an Army veteran of the Viet Nam War. He was a parishioner of St.
Anthony of Padua Episcopal Church of Hackensack. He is survived by his
wife Zenide Guerrero Velez, his daughter Alexandra Morris and her
husband Kirby of Los Angeles, California, his grandson Brian Morris of
Los Angeles California, his sister, Cecilia Breslow-McCarter and her
husband Thomas of Montvale, and two brothers, Jorge Velez and his wife
Sara of Goshen, New York, and Ramon Velez of Hackensack. The Mass of
Requiem will be offered on Saturday, February 3, at 9:00 AM. at Saint
Anthony of Padua Episcopal Church, 72 Lodi Street, Hackensack with
burial following at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
Visiting is on Friday evening from 7 - 10 PM.
