Obituary of Frank William Koestner Jr.

Frank William Koestner Jr., "Bill", of Ridgewood, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2015, at his home, at the age of 87 years. Born in Hackensack, he grew up in Bogota, and had resided in Ridgewood for 40 years. Prior to retiring in December of 2014, he was the owner of Koestner Associates of Hackensack, a 100 year old family civil engineering and land surveying firm which is owned by his son Steven with his daughter Marjorie as Vice President. He was a graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology where he was a member of the Alumni Association and the Gear and Triangle Society. Bill was also a real estate entrepreneur and developer throughout Bergen and Hudson Counties. He was a member of the Ridgewood Republican Club and served as Bergen County Republican Committeeman. He also was a member of the Hackensack Lions Club. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Ridgewood and Faith Lutheran Church of Lavallette. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. Beloved husband for 63 years of Margaret E. (nee Bond). Devoted father of Steven Koestner and his wife Karen of Mahwah, Carol Brown and her husband David Blanchflower of South Burlington, Vermont, Diane Dolliver and her husband Richard of Charlotte, Vermont and Marjorie Koestner of Ridgewood. Cherished grandfather of Sarah, Bethany, Grace, Mary Lou, Rebecca, Cameron, Harrison, Meghan, Will, William, Diane and Christopher. Adored great grandfather of Caleb, Owen, Roland, Guinevere, Eloise and Henry. Dearest brother of the late Mildred Koestner and Geraldine Krueger. The funeral on Friday, March 20th, at 10:00 AM from the funeral home. The Funeral Service at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 155 Linwood Avenue, Ridgewood, at 11:30 AM, Reverend Andy Nelson officiating with entombment following at George Washington Memorial Park.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
