Obituary of Richard S. Carucci

Richard S. Carucci of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at the age of 78 years. Born in Hackensack he lived in Hemlock Farms, Pennsylvania and lived in Fort Myers for five years. Prior to retiring, he was the Deputy Fire Chief for the City of Hackensack where he worked for 34 years. He also had co-owned Century Institute of Court Reporting in Hackensack. He served as a NJ State Housing Inspector, an Arson Investigator for the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, a Commissioner for the Bergen County Board of Appeals, and a Fire Subcode Official for the City of Hackensack. He was a member of the Bergen County Arson Squad, IAFF Local # 2081 and IAFF Local 3172. He was a parishioner of the Church of Immaculate Conception where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Trinity Council # 747, a lifetime member of the Hackensack Elks Lodge # 658, and the Hackensack Troast Club. Beloved husband for 58 years to Catherine (nee Giblin). Devoted father of Michael Carucci of Hackensack and his wife the late Lois, Kim Furbacher and her husband Frank of Rochelle Park, Laura Carucci and her husband Victor Porcoro of Saddle Brook, Richard Carucci and his wife Christine of Clifton, and Sharon Carucci of Hemlock Farms, Pennsylvania. Cherished grandfather of Milissa, Frank Jr., Christopher, Robert and his wife Lauren, Amanda, Richard III, Candice and her husband Eric, Nunzio, Anthony and Danielle. Adored great grandfather of Eric Jr. and Sebastian. The funeral on Saturday, June 20th, at 9:15 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 49 Vreeland Avenue, Hackensack with entombment following at St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 - 8 PM.
