Obituary of Hilda Abascal

Hilda "Chiqui" Martinez Abascal, of Hackensack, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at the age of 77 years. Born in Havana, Cuba, she came to this country in 1961 settling in Union City and lived in Hackensack for 13 years. Prior to retiring, she was an Executive Assistant for Chilewich Corporation of New York. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R. C. Church and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Alumni Association of Miami. Beloved wife of the late David Abascal who died in 2002. Devoted mother of Marilda Colonna and her husband Robert of Paramus and Lourdes Abascal-Leyva and her husband Dale of Hackensack. Cherished grandmother of Bobby and Faith. Dearest sister of Olga Gonzalez of Union City and Hilda Cano of Rockville, MD. Also survived by adoring family, nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends. The funeral on Wednesday, October 7th, at 9:45 AM from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity R. C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack with burial following at Hackensack Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 9 PM.
